A male figure folded inward — knee raised, head bowed into the dark mass of its own shadow. The torso catches light along the shoulder and shin while the rest sinks into ink and charcoal density. Drips run vertically through the body like rain down stone. No face. No hands resolved. Only mass, drawn down.
The figure does not rest — it compresses. Black accumulates where the body curves tightest, at the skull, the folded arm, the base, as though gravity were selective, pulling pigment toward collapse. The white ground offers no support, no surface to sit on. Withdrawal names the direction precisely: not away from something, but further into the body's own interior.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
