A sleeping face rests on a folded arm, eyes closed, ear and neck pale and finely creased. A vertical seam cuts the image in two. Right of it, a second face in blue and rust-brown, its surface peeling like old paint onto bare canvas.
The left face is the one the pull toward the probable would keep: even skin, a calm profile, a face that could belong to anyone. The hand's map did not let it close. Its other half came back as crust, flaking, still holding an eyelid and lashes. The seam is where the two versions meet.
The eye moves across the seam and cannot settle on a side. The pale face begins to look chosen, the blue one remembered. Over days, the order of that reading changes.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
