A bald figure stands three-quarter back, head turned slightly to profile, weight distributed through a torso that reads as carved rather than drawn. The body is built from layered darks — charcoal, shadow, compressed matter — cut through by white scratches that run across muscle and spine without following anatomy. The yellow ground is dense, matte, almost industrial, scored with vertical marks that continue behind and through the figure.
The scratches do not describe the body — they cross it, indifferent to its contours, as if the surface were worked before or after the figure arrived. Upper back and skull approach legibility; the lower torso darkens and loses resolution, the figure becoming material as it descends. Nothing is finished at the same degree. The image holds the body in partial disclosure and does not complete it.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
