A figure folds inward — head bowed, knees drawn up, one arm extended across the body, the other pulled close. The outer surface reads as pale mineral, teal-green, cool and sealed. Where that surface opens — along the forearms, the shins, the throat — muscle and tendon are exposed in anatomical detail: red-ochre, striated, precise.
The geometric ground assembles around the body without containing it: dark rectangles, burnt copper arcs, engraved circles that echo the curve of the skull. The body holds two states simultaneously — exterior shell and interior structure — and refuses to choose between them. Neither reading cancels the other. What remains is a figure that has been opened in order to be verified.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
