Above the collar line, the body changes register entirely: face and throat rendered in fine hatched line, pale and anatomical, the mouth slightly open, eyes closed. From the crown, pale planes of material rise and splay outward, angular and load-bearing, a single red fragment caught at the left edge.
The image holds two incompatible surfaces in the same body: the draped, physical mass of cloth below and the diagrammatic precision of line above. Neither reads as metaphor for the other. The figure does not perform — it stands at the junction of two ways of being made, and does not resolve the difference.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
