The skull reads as assembled rather than grown — geometric sections pressed into proximity, held by charcoal lines that score across them without following their edges. One circular void stands where an eye might be. Below it, the jaw and throat dissolve into dark vertical brushwork, the body losing definition before it reaches the lower frame.
Red erupts at the crown and returns in the lower right — not as accent but as a separate structural argument the rest of the image does not resolve. The pale planes carry the marks of repeated revision: scratched, wiped, laid over. What the figure presents as a front-facing form, the surface denies as any single thing. Organic Variation names not a quality but a rule: no two readings of this image will agree on what has been assembled here.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
