Two cranial forms occupy the same torso: one turned left, flat red planes scored with concentric grain lines, teeth bared and eye hollowed to a dark spiral; the other tilted back and right, ivory and worn, closer to bone than skin. Between them, the neck and shoulder mass in deep umber and raw sienna — layered, striated, pulled in opposing directions.
Neither head resolves the other. The red form carries the grain of wood or dried muscle; the pale one carries the weight of calcium, something long outside the body. The ground behind them — dark, gridded, almost architectural — does not arbitrate. Both states persist, structural and incompatible, in the same frame.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
