A bare-backed figure seated cross-legged, head dropped forward, spine curved under its own weight. The skin is pale, scored with fine lines — scratched into the surface rather than drawn onto it. Below the waist, the body dissolves into dark pooling shadow, anchoring the form without grounding it.
The painted ground — worked, scraped, layered in ochre-green — shares the same surface logic as the skin: both carry marks they didn't choose. The figure faces the wall it cannot see past. What the image withholds is not what the figure is thinking, but whether thinking is what this is.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
