A figure folds toward another — or toward its own displaced half. The face tilts downward, eyes closed, its surface a dense web of engraved line beneath plaster-white skin. Large curved planes of teal and burnt orange cut through the composition, not as background but as matter: opaque, weighted, overlapping the bodies without containing them.
The point of contact between the two forms is also the point of greatest interference. Hands, shoulders, a jaw — each resolves clearly before the planes interrupt and redistribute them. Nothing here completes a meeting. The image holds two figures in the structural condition of almost, and does not release it.
