A seated figure, cross-legged, head bowed and faceless. The skull divides cleanly down the centre: one half white plaster, one half deep black. Where the torso should be continuous, it opens into vertical strips — paper, marble, aged linen, engraving, pigmented cloth, a rectangle of dark red — layered and overlapping, held within the silhouette of a body that remains whole at its edges.
The hands rest at the centre of the composition, drawn with precision against the accumulation behind them. The figure does not perform stillness — it is made of it. What the torso holds is not symbolic content but material fact: the interior is not hidden here, it has been replaced by everything the body has absorbed and not resolved. The black limbs contain it all without comment.

Artist
SaintPixel is an art project created by Mikael Gueguen, who was born in France in the 1970s. He trained in applied arts and fine arts, including a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting (wood and marble finishes, large-scale scenic designs, and trompe l'œil). An IT entrepreneur in the 2000s, he returned to artistic and manual practice, working today at the intersection of traditional media and generative AI.
