A male figure advances frontally, head bowed, face withheld. The surface reads as patinated bronze or worked stone — ochre, ash, burnt sienna bleeding through at the arms — but ribbons of darker matter spiral across the torso, peeling away from the body or wrapping into it. Three pale vertical bands divide the ground behind, architectural and indifferent. The ribbons are not drapery and not damage. They occupy the same plane as the body without belonging to it, turning the torso into a site of competing densities. The figure moves forward while coming apart along its central axis. Both states are equally material, equally unresolved.
